Introduction
         Several events in life highlight the importance of marching round in prayer. Such events include:
  1. The Bible account of the fall of walls of Jericho.
  2. The rotation and revolution of the planets.
  3. The automobiles moving on the roads.
  4. The operation inside an engine box.
  5. The motion of the fan blades.
  6. The effect of a whirlwind.
  7. The turning of the soup while cooking.
  8. The spiritual effect of circular motion.
Bible Account Of The Fall Of The Walls Of Jericho
         Jericho was a great city, so fortified that wall protected it on every side. The wall was so thick that the people built houses in it. When the Israelites came to the Promised Land, the wall was a great hindrance to them. But God had a simple solution for that.

2 And the LORD said to Joshua: "See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. 3 You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. 5 It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him." Josh 6:2-5

Joshua and the Israelites marched round Jericho on horse backs. That is why they were able to march round up to seven times as they were directed.

Rotation And Revolution Of The Planets
         The planets, including the earth, remain in their orbits (path of travel) because they rotate about their central axis, and revolve round the sun. It is the rotation of the earth that causes day and night. Also, it creates the illusion of the time. In spirit, time does not exist. What we call eternity is simply “the Eternal Now”. The rotation and revolution of the earth creates different types of forces, which influence activities on earth. The forces include:
  • Centripetal force.
  • Centrifugal force.
  • Mode swing (changes in mentality and character).
  • Gravitational pull, depending on how close the earth moves near to the sun or far from it. All these forces help the earth remain in its orbit, and maintain stability – dynamic equilibrium.


    • Automobiles Moving On The Roads
             The automobiles, like cars, trucks, buses, trains, etc, are able to move on the road because of the rotation of the wheels. The faster the wheels rotate, the faster the automobiles move. In the other words, rotary motion enables transportation.

    Operation Of The Engine
             The Power of circular motion is seen inside the engine of an automobile. All you will find inside the engine box are rods (shafts) moving in circular motion at high speed. The circular motion causes the wheels to rotate, and thereby, produces transportation of peoples, goods and services.

    Motion Of The Fan Blades
             When we want breeze, we switch on the fan. The fan blade rotates, thereby causing a steady flow of air in an intended direction. The breeze provides ventilation by which we receive and breathe fresh air. The fresh air purifies the body and makes us to relax and rest. The gain is increased strength, in addition to good health.

    The Effect Of Whirlwind
             You must have observed whirlwind, at one time or another. When in manifestation, the turbulent wind is able to move objects, high up towards the sky or away from a location. In some places, the whirlwind is able to lift a cow and throw it over a distance.

    Turning Of Soup
             Good and nourishing taste is made by turning round the soup inside the pot. The circular motion makes the ingredients to mix very well. Thereby, it produces a smooth and even taste. A soup that is not well turned during cooking soon becomes charred and spoilt.

    Spiritual Effect of Circular Motion
             All the above examples and explanations demonstrate the spiritual importance of marching round in prayer. When children of God march round in prayer, the Holy Spirit generates an enormous amount of spiritual forces. Such an overwhelming force sets the evil spirits fleeing.
